I’m here in Southern California and totally craving Taco Town’s Cheese Enchiladas and their Flautas. In fact, I was searching for recipes for flautas when I found this site. Haven’t found anything close to the “yummyness” of their food for over 30 years. I grew up in Gering and every time I visit, this is one of my first stops.

My favorite food in Western Nebraska and is a must for anyone looking to try a unique Nebraskan style Mexican taste. Keep up the great work Taco Town and hope bump into you all while enjoying a Great lunch.

We ate at Taco Town every day for lunch when we were seniors in high school. That was 1980. Whenever we are near Scottsbluff or when friends visit us in Wyoming, we pack a cooler full with tacos, enchiladas, burritos and rice — oh, and the amazing hot sauce. I have never found Mexican food as amazing as Taco Town. Our son played soccer in high school, so when they played in Torrington, I left extra early and headed to Scottsbluff to fill a cooler. My husband doesn’t agree with me, but I crave Taco Town constantly.

What I have never figured out is why the Mexican food in this one little place is different from everywhere else. My sister and I would fight when she wanted to go to Rositas because it was the only place in town that used corn tortillas for enchaladas. I grew up there and now reside in North Carolina. The food is just NOT the same! You all have made me miss home!

Taco town does
ship overnight mail it is a little pricey but enjoyed this dinner so so much it was well worth it don’t forget the hot sauce If you love Mexican food you will love Scottsbluff Mexican food I have eating at many many places all over the USA and never had Mexican food like this mmmmmm

I would kill for Taco Town’s Enchilada recipe. And El Charito’s pork chili recipe. I left Scottsbluff around 15 years ago for Florida and have not found decent mexican food since.

Taco Town is definitely an Iconic Scottsbluff landmark and a wonderful place to eat. Where else can you get fried tacos anymore? Their hot sauce and pork chili are top notch. I grew up in Scottsbluff and am drawn back to their food every time I return. The great debate, however, is why are there peas in their taco meat? Taco town and the authentic mexican food of Scottsbluff was honored in an article of Gourmet magazine (I think that was it) in ’07. Good stuff man!

I lived in Scottsbluff, NE when I was in grade school thru West. Ne. CC (it was NE Western then)and Taco Town was always the place to go to when I would come back to visit. Believe me I would go back there today if I ever get the chance to go back and visit. They were and I believe still are the best according to my friends who still live in Scottsbluff. Well worth it!!!!

Funny thing is, Scottsbluff is noted for its authentic mexican food. I love Taco Town, and was in the midst of a Google to figure out how they make their Kick A*s Hot Sauce when i found a Taco Town friend
