I have gone to Chuco's as well in Austin and while they tried to imitate that El Paso atmosphere the taste was nowhere on par with the original. Being a native, Tex-Mex loving Texas, I thought it'd be fun. Sadly, it's true what they say: they're an acquired taste. Nonetheless, I ate all of them...and they're mega cheap.
