Original Torchy’s is Changing Locations

i think i am more curious about Shuggies Burgers & Seafood.. WTF?

we emailed Torchy’s for some clarification and here is what owner Michael Rypka had to say:

The S.1st trailer (1207 S.1st) is moving a few lots up to 1311 S.1st, where it will also be joined by the trailer that was by Little Woodrows (520 W.6th street) which will become Shuggies burgers and seafood. The Torchy’s at S.1st and El Paso will remain at its present location (2809 S.1st Street).

   Hey, Taco Towners!
   It’s no secret that I love your blog! I wanted to give you a heads up, though, about the Torchy’s location. Isn’t that the place right next to Bouldin Creek Coffee House? If so, that’s the wrong location. I asked Torchy’s owner Mike Rypka the same question, cause I thought this building was what he was talking about.

   The new Torchy’s is actually a few lots closer to the original taco stand. It has some garage-looking things and plenty of parking. It doesn’t appear close to being finished, but how long does it take to set up some trailers, right?

   Hope ya’ll are happily munching around town today!

   i took down the photo so as not to add to the mis-information..

   i found this post on yelp, which has me even more confused..

   So, if you haven’t heard, the official word is that Torchy’s is closing it’s trailer on 6th street and moving it south. They will be transforming the current trailer location on S. 1st street into “Torchy’s Trailer Park and Eatery” (I love that name! How can you not, it has “trailer park” in it!). The catch is that the “new” trailer will be turning into Shuggie’s - a burger joint. Now, I don’t know who this Shuggie character is, but I’m willing to bet he’s related to Torchy somehow, just got out of jail and needs a job. Burgers and tacos. It just doesn’t sound right. And Shuggie? Not so much.

   so this sounds like its staying in the same location, just expanding … looks like we need clarification..
