Straight douche article. Not a fan of the derogatory feel and ignorant undertone. I agree with these comments Adams just a food lover not a paycheck happy tourist... He gets paid well sure but look what he sacrifices, you could run a marathon and not work off those meals.

No, Dean. The record-setter was NOT some big pro-eater. He did not just stroll into town. He was (and still is) me. The show wrongly said that I was "some ringer from overseas" or whatever. I was just a student at UT-Austin, and I wanted to break the then record of 6. So I ate 7 (the record was 7, not 8. 8 was what Adam was aiming for).

For the record, the tacos are definitely OVER 1 pound each (we weighed them), it was rather painful to do, and I didn't eat again until the next day.

I love Man vs. Food, but that doesn't seem to be the issue here. I've been to Juan and a Million, and the thought of eating 8 of those monsters is enough to fill you up already. Amazing tacos, but 8? Never going to happen

Austin is actually a bit of a dump, with its head up its own ass. Very arrogant as seen in the comments above-- be aware when travelling

Well insulting people you don't even know for no reason, especially a nice guy like Adam, speaks volumes about your character. You have a case of internet-tough-guy; perhaps I could recommend a counselor for you.

But Nick, the introduction to the show makes it clear that the show isn't about a competitive eater (i.e. Kobayashi) going around downing challenges. On the contrary it is about an average Joe, who was NOT a competitive eater, taking on these challenges because he personally loves food and because it is more entertaining, in my opinion, than watching some guy who is an expert and wins every time.

I watched him try to do this on the travel channel and just laughed, the guy is a joke. They should hire a real competitive eater... I wonder how many of these tacos Kobayashi or Joey Chesnut could down.

Man, I wish there was somewhere around here that served mexican breakfast food before 11am.
