Denver, CO – A seven pound breakfast taco (or burrito if you must) is not meant to be consumed in one sitting.. much less by a woman.. It seems Jack-n-Grill is tempting the taco gods by challenging the ladies to take down this monstrosity of green chile, ham, cheese and potatoes in one sitting, with no bathroom breaks.. The reward:  free meals for life..  the catch:  if homegirl manages to finish it, she probably wont live to see another meal..

According to Dr. James Richard, of Exempla Family Practice in Lafayette, you can definitely die from eating a 7-lb. burrito. A 110 lb. female cannot finish it without puking.  He did say that it is possible to eat the burrito without going to the bathroom.

We stopped by this place on the way out of Ft. Collins.. apparently its the old standby for stoner college students in the area.. there were award plaques on the wall announcing “Best of..” for the past 5 or 6 years.. this place obviously doesnt suck..

Its a counter-style setup.. you order your burrito piece by piece, starting with the tortilla.. theyve got white, wheat, tomato chile, pesto, jalepeno/cheddar, and spinach.. then o to the cheese (only monterey jack), then rice, beans.. then you get to choose a filling.. chicken mole, chicken bay leaf (chicken soup flavor), carnitas, chile verde pork, beef carne asada, veggie, and potato (homefries)…easy enough eh?  now its time to choose salsa – pico, corn/chipotle, fresh jalepeno, tomatillo, and a special “salsa de lupe”.. While taking a short cut to my far east casita, I happened to drive by a place that has caught my eye several times over the past few months. Having lived near the corner of oltorf and parker (como se dice el ghetto?) for one remarkably difficult to remember summer in college, it was surprising to me that the old mr. gattis delivery hub at the corner had transformed into something else. Something….super? The “Super Burrito” seems to capitalize on on a niche in the taco scene that has long gone ignored. Really, if you want to get a drive through taco there are very few establishments that will cater to your desires. Of course the taco c is a constant, but most of us that frequent tacotown are well beyond those days. Come to think of it, “the c” has monopolized our drive thru tacos for far too long.
